Kolkata- looking back

In the year 1960, Job Charnok, an agent of British East India Company selected a place for their business hub. The British company bought three villages Gobindapur,Sutanuti and Kalikata situated on the east bank of the Ganga from the local land lords. East india company gave 3000 rupees tax per year to the Mughal emperor to trade on this land. The three villages were together named Calcutta- the city of joy. The history of Kolkata goes way back and I don’t want to bore my friends on this. My only intention is that to find that how did the city get the name Calcutta……..
Any opinion from my friends which can help me on this welcome.
